Deep Fry Fish Roe

This is my favourite, but apparently high in cholesterol, be warned.   Usually the whole fish that you buy may have the sags of roe inside the belly cavity.  Some fish monger may sell them separately.

Ingredients

  1. Fish roe still in sags (do not cut and release the eggs)
  2. Salt
  3. Cooking oil

Method

  1. Wash and dry the fish roe on a kitchen paper towel.   Rub with some salt
  2. Deep fry or pan fry till golden brown, be careful that the oil will splatter unexpectedly due to the bursting of the eggs.  (use the wok cover, or a splatter screen -sold in supermarkets- to protect yourself, or just simply stand far away)
  3. Serve hot.
